They are terrible people; they cut off a valetecdorian's speech for criticism of the school.
The administration supports freedom of speech as long as you're saying what they want to hear.
Every year there are graduating students who are censored simply because the administration didn't want to hear it. Many of these students have innovative and sometimes unprecedented concepts to share. These students are ready to contribute their thoughts and ideas to society; it's very unfortunate to see educators thwart their progress. An occurrence such as this requires national attention because the culture of censorship is not unique to this school. Our public education system has become an institution to promote intellectual compliance and cultural conformity. We need to stop making our young students fear the consequences of simply speaking their mind.
Terrible school I have never in my life ever seen a school that revokes a students 1st amendment right. This school has no respect for you constitutional rights.
I wouldn't change my experience at Wyoming Area for anything in the world. I wouldn't have wanted to go to any other school. People aren't realizing that they only cut his speech because he went off target and they weren't sure where he was going ~ could have possibly attacked other students. Didn't cut him off because he was talking down on the administration, maybe if he even attempted to get the speech approved? (Which he didn't)
